What is the Kayon R.O.A. Project?
Kayon R.O.A. is a collaborative design effort created with the intention of promoting
awareness and action in response to global crises. By encouraging and guiding
consumers along the path of conscientious spending Kayon is mobilizing the
public in ways that are helpful to this world.
How does Kayon work?
Our design collaborative has been formed to create a variety of products that
are first noticed by the consumer for their design elements. Once the well-designed
product has the consumer's attention, the consumer learns that the product
has been inspired by a cause. By making a purchase, the consumer makes a
monetary donation to that cause.
The profit from the sale of each product is given directly to the
organization best suited to help the cause the product was inspired
by.
Without any inconvenience, Kayon R.O.A. will impart consumers into
a growing collaborative of conscious spenders who demand a higher ethical
value in the goods they purchase and who want to make a positive change
in this world. The consumer who would normally spend the money on a
high-end designed item would now be spending the money to get the merchandise
they want, while becoming a contributor to effecting global change
through those goods.
Who designs for Kayon?
With each line of product, Kayon R.O.A. will collaborate with a new group of
up and coming artists to help design the product. By involving different
artists, Kayon hopes to incorporate an array of aesthetic sensibilities.
Each artist’s viewpoint or specific calling to a cause/charity organization
will also help to expand Kayon R.O.A. into multiple areas of interest.
What products are available through Kayon?
The designed goods for sale will be everything from printed tee shirts (organic
cotton, non-sweatshop tees) with prints that are inspired by the tsunami
cause (for example), to decorative wooden boxes made from Greenwood Certified
or scrap wood inspired by the race to save the rainforests. Kayon R.O.A.
products are packaged in such a way that information about each cause and
artist who designed for that cause is presented.
Why are Kayon products limited edition?
Kayon R.O.A. products are sold in high-end stores in limited edition, and are
hand-signed by each designer. Limited edition runs promotes the idea of curbing
our frivolous consumption which, in turn, guides us towards being more conscious
of striving towards conservation.
How much does Kayon donate?
100% of profits will be donated to the charity organization best suited to
help the cause that inspired the purchased product.
What is “R.O.A.”?
R.O.A. stands for Redistribution of Abundance. Based on the concept that if
we have an abundance of any kind of wealth, whether is be spiritual, monetary
or informational, we have a responsibility to extend it and share in that
abundance with those who have not.
Kayon can help us to help make a difference!
Through this empowerment of the conscious consumer, Kayon R.O.A. will pave
a path for individuals to move towards making a more positive impact in this
world with greater ease and confidence. |
